Legal Ease Public Service Spotlight: Elizabeth Dalia Racine

Every month Legal-Ease.info will spotlight an attorney that has dedicated their career to public service.  This month we are honored to feature Elizabeth Dalia Racine.

Elizabeth’s Bio:

Elizabeth completed her undergrad at the University of Florida in Gainesville, Fl with high honors. Dalia graduated from Emory University School of Law in Atlanta, Ga. While attending the University of Florida, Dalia met her husband-to-be. They were married in 2005 and have three beautiful children.

Mrs. Racine is the 3rd generation of her family to be involved in law enforcement. Her paternal grandfather was an agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) for several years. Her father is a retired police officer.

Dalia also comes from a line of strong women. Her paternal grandmother was raised in Macon, Georgia. After graduating from Wesleyan University, her grandmother joined the Navy and assisted in assembling spy cameras to attach on military planes. Dalia’s mother emigrated to this country from Egypt in her early 20’s to accept an au-pair job with a diplomat in Washington DC. This was her mother’s first time leaving her country and she was the first member of her family to come to America. She was able to gain citizenship and build a new life based on her hard work and dedication to her life long dream.

Elizabeth Dalia Racine has dedicated her legal career to prosecution. First, she worked at Fulton County District Attorney’s Office. While there she worked in the trial division and prosecuted various felonies including; aggravated assault, armed robbery, drug and burglary cases. She was then moved to the Crimes Against Women and Children unit where she was responsible for handling sex crimes and physical crimes against women, children and vulnerable citizens of Fulton County. Mrs. Racine was then assigned to Major Case where she prosecuted homicide cases.

Next, Mrs. Racine moved to DeKalb County District Attorney’s Office where she was assigned to the Crimes Against Children unit. She handled cases involving children who are the victims of rape, child molestation, physical abuse, murder and human trafficking. While at the DeKalb DA’s Office, she implemented a Human Trafficking protocol for DeKalb County along with the police department. As part of the protocol, Mrs. Racine created the team, training and helped present to 100’s of dedicated DeKalb County Police Department officers to make them aware of the human trafficking problem gripping DeKalb County and the state of Georgia. In addition, Dalia is a member of the Governor’s Office for Children and Families CSEC (Commercially Sexually Exploited Children) Task Force.
Dalia believes her strong heritage commits her to be firm and fair while working in the criminal justice system. She believes that Douglas County Deserves Better and her education and experience will make a way for that to happen!

  • 2011 Lewis Slaton Highest Achievement Award, Fulton County District Attorney’s Office  ~awarded for successfully trying 10 homicide cases and 1 human trafficking case to guilty verdict in 2011
  • 2011 YLD Commitment to Justice Award ~awarded to one prosecutor and defense attorney in the state
